词性重点考查的就是词性的混淆，主要是名词与动词的误用、名词与形容词的误用以及形容词与副词的误用。做这类改错题，首先要判断词性及词在句中的位置，然后根据它们在句中所处的位置来确定词性是否正确。一般说来，形容词修饰名词，副词修饰动词，副词修饰形容词。例如说到某个问题的严重性，会用increasingly serious（越来越严重），用副词修饰形容词，不能说increasing serious。
