In Melbourne and Brisbane, there are bikes that you can hire

词汇

bike track
'It’s bike track all the way along, so I don’t have to worry about the traffic at all’
A ‘bike track’

k's
‘[I] in fact named it Isabelle, it has more character when you name it and it rides better, you get used to the feel of it, …each bike has its own character and handling, and after riding it for 30 thousand k's, you really get to know her.’
'He drives too fast:he was going at 10 k's above the speed limit.'
‘I’ve been training to run the whole 42 k's for this year’s marathon.’

elbow room
‘In peak hour, I would recommend that if you’re catching a train, you should walk to either the front or the end of the carriage so that you can ensure you’ve got enough room because peak hour does get a bit busy and sometimes it’s a bit difficult to actually get some elbow room in there’
在拥挤的火车箱里人挤人,连伸胳膊的空间都没有,就可以说,‘The train was so full that there was not enough elbow room in there!’
Elbow grease
‘The car is still very dirty even after you’ve cleaned it! Come on, put some elbow grease into it.’

Up to the elbows
‘Sorry, I can’t really talk right now. I’m up to the elbows with paperwork in the office.’
Bend/raise one’s elbow
‘He’s down at the pub, bending his elbow like usual.’

peak hour
‘In peak hour, I would recommend that if you’re catching a train, you should walk to either the front or the end of the carriage so that you can ensure you’ve got enough room because peak hour does get a bit busy and sometimes it’s a bit difficult to actually get some elbow room in there’
‘I usually stay in the office until the peak hour finishes.’

hair-raising
‘Isabelle has taken me around Tasmania, 10 days, two thousand Ks of riding and, fantastic fastlow-sweeping turns, and hair-raising turns.’
‘The rollercoaster, which goes up really high before coming down really fast, was a hair-raising fun.’
