Liverpool beat Norwich 2-1 on the road Monday behind second-half goals by Luis Garcia and John
Arne Riise to move up to fifth place in the Premier League.
Garcia scored in the 58th minute and Riise in the 64th. Ryan Jarvis scored for Norwich with two minutes left.
Liverpool climbed one place above Middlesbrough to fifth with 37 points, 15 points behind league leader Chelsea. Norwich dropped to 18th with 16 points.
Also, struggling Blackburn and Crystal Palace earned much-needed victories. Blackburn defeated Charlton 1-0 and Crystal Palace topped Aston Villa 2-0. New Castle played a night game at West Bromwich Albion.
