Chinese renowned directors Zhang Yimou and Chen Kaige have join the fierce competition for the opening of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

　　Up to now, a total of 8 teams from both home and abroad are bidding for the project, including the producer of Athens Olympics.

　　Director Chen Kaige is recently busy preparing for the contest by learning from Alan Greenspan, who is the 7-time official director of Olympic films.

　　Zhang Yimou has many experiences on directing all kinds of openings, including his directorial of the closing ceremony for the Athens Olympics last year.

　　The final winner will be announced at the end of this year, said Liu Jingmin, an official from Beijing Olympics Committee, on Thursday.
