The three athletes villages for the Turin Winter Olympics opened on Tuesday.

IOC member Manuela Di Centa cut the red ribbon at the largest village, which covers about 100,000 square meters and will host 2,500 people.

A village in the Alpine town of Bardonecchia will host about 700 people. Another village in Sestriere will accommodate 2,000 athletes.

The Olympics will open on Feb. 10 and end on Feb. 26.
