To Buy a Video

Amos asked his mother whether they could have a video.
"I’m afraid we can’t afford one," sighed his mother.
But on the following day in came Amos, staggering beneath the weight of a brand-new video.
"How on earth did you pay for that?" gasped his mother.
"Easy, Mum." replied Amos, "I sold the television!"

When(If) Push Comes to Shove[

Human beings, like many other kinds of animals, often try to solve disputes by using physical violence. Pushing or shoving another person can be seen as the beginning of a violent confrontation.

In most situations, the anger between two people or groups (e.g. companies, nations) may result in nothing more than an undiplomatic exchange of angry words. It is only when an incident of physical violence occurs that we consider the problem to be elevated to a higher level. This is what we mean when we say, "when push comes to shove" 一 the moment when two parties stop talking and resort to physical violence is a crisis point that must be avoided if at all possible. At the same time, neither side wants to show that it is weak. This idiom is used in less violent business or social situations to show resolve as well as in cases of actual violence.

(Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree)

Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree(老橡树上的黄丝带),伴着歌声这个故事也传遍了全世界。

I'm comin' home, I've done my time
Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine
If you received my letter telling you I'd soon be free
Then you'll know just what to do
If you still want me
If you still want me

CHORUS
Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
It's been three long years
Do ya still want me? (still want me)
If I don't see a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
I'll stay on the bus
Forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree

Bus driver, please look for me
'cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see
I'm really still in prison
And my love, she holds the key
A simple yellow ribbon's what I need to set me free
I wrote and told her please

(CHORUS)

Now the whole damned bus is cheerin'
And I can't believe I see
A hundred yellow ribbons 'round the ole oak tree

I'm comin' home, mmm, mmm

(Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree)
(Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree)
(Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree)

FADE

(Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree)
(Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree)
(Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree)
