Swissair Reaches Deal with Belgium

Shares in Swiss Air Group have risen in early trading, up nearly 16% after agreeing to pay 258 million Euros to the Belgian carrier, Sebina. That’s in return for pulling out of a promise to raise its stake in the unprofitable airline. Swiss Air did have an agreement with the Belgian government, which owns the other chunk of the airline, to increase its stake to 85%. But, in financial difficulties itself, Swiss Air has been looking to retreat.
