PART II - Vocabulary

Can you show me how it(a cassette player) works? [kən ju:'ʃəu mi:'hau ət'wə:ks]
Plug it in ['plʌg ət 'in] 插上插头
Switch it on ['switʃ ət'ɔn]
Press this button ['pres ðis 'bʌtən]
Press the other button ['pres ði: 'ʌðə 'bʌtən]
Turn the volume up['tə:n ðə' vɔlju:m ʌp]
It isn't working [it'izənt 'wə:kiŋ](录音机)还是不响
Now you do it ['nau 'ju: 'du: ətJ
Simple, isn't it? ['simpəl 'izənt ət]
Clean up this store room ['kli:n ʌp ðis 'stɔ: ru:m]
Sweep the floor ['swi:p ðə 'flɔ:] 扫地
Where to?  ['wɛə 'tu:] 搬到哪儿去?(= Where will I move them to/take it to?)

back...up ['bæk...'ʌp] 倒(车)
Name:

PART III - The Lesson

1.TELLING SOMEONE TO DO SOMETHING
Would you fill in this card, please?
Would you mind signing.your name, please?
Could you close the door?
Listen again and try it.
Try them with us.

2. TELLING SOMEONE NOT TO DO SOMETHING
Don't plug it in yet
Don 't press that button
Don't turn it up too high.
Don't forget to…
Don't forget to plug it in.
Don't forget to switch it on.
Don't forget to turn the volume up.

3.POLITE FORMULAS
(Could you)  Turn it up, please.
I want you to...
I'd like you to...
( I'd like you to...比I want you to…
I want you to look at this.
I'd like you to clean this room.
Can you come here?

PRONUNCIATION CORNER
I'd是I would的简略式。请练习I'd like中的 [aid] 音。
I have seen it - I've seen it.
She has done it - She's done it:
He will come.He'll come.

PART IV - Exercises
